Plus plan
What's Included in Plus
The two things Plus adds — the AI assistant and double the monthly text allowance — and everything Basic already covers.
BukaTime has two plans, and the difference is small and specific. Almost everything is in both: your calendar, your clients, your services and team, notifications, the waitlist, your booking widget, and multiple locations.
Plus adds two things.
The AI Assistant
Every text a client sends gets read, understood and answered — while you're mid-blowdry, or asleep. Marketing calls it your AI receptionist; in the app it is the AI assistant, under Studio Configuration.
It reads the incoming message, checks your real calendar, services and policies, and drafts the reply. You decide how far it goes on its own, per studio and per client:
| Level | What happens |
|---|---|
| Off | You answer every message yourself. The assistant only sorts your inbox. |
| Suggest | It writes the reply, you read it and press send. Nothing goes out without you. |
| Semi-auto | It answers on its own and handles confirmations and cancellations. New bookings still need your yes. |
| Full auto | It runs the whole chat — answers, books, reschedules. It only comes to you when it's stuck. |
It cannot invent an appointment. The AI proposes; the same booking engine that powers your calendar executes — so a slot it offers is a slot that genuinely exists.
There is a second way in that costs you nothing extra: in any conversation you can turn the reply box around and tell the assistant what to write — it checks your calendar and prepares the reply or the booking, and you approve it. Double the Message Allowance
Every plan includes texting. Plus doubles how much of it you get.
| Basic | Plus | |
|---|---|---|
| Texts per chair, per month | 100 | 200 |
The allowance is pooled, not per person: it is your per-chair figure multiplied by the number of activated bookable providers you are billed for, shared across the whole studio. A busy week for one provider draws on the same pot as everyone else, so nobody runs out while the studio still has room.
Reminders, confirmations and change notices all draw from this allowance, as do replies your assistant sends.
Emails are not capped. If you are close to your text allowance, setting Preferred channel to email under Setting Up Client Notifications keeps clients informed without spending texts.
What Basic Already Includes
Worth being clear about, because it is most of the product:
- The full calendar — appointments, busy times, drag-and-drop rescheduling, statuses
- Unlimited clients, profiles, notes and visit history
- Your whole service menu, variants, categories and staff assignments
- Your team, roles, working hours and availability
- Client notifications — booking confirmations, change notices and reminders
- The waitlist
- Your booking widget and public booking page
- Multiple locations — this is not a Plus feature
Switching Plans
Plan changes happen on the billing page and take effect right away, not at your next billing period. Upgrading charges a prorated amount immediately, crediting the unused time on your current plan. You can move back down to Basic at any time — that also takes effect immediately, though the credit for unused time isn't refunded.
- Go to Settings, then the Billing & studios tab.
- Find the studio you want to change and open its plan.
- Pick the plan and confirm.
The step-by-step version, including what happens to your bill mid-period, is in Managing Your Subscription.
Only the billing contact can change a plan. If the option is greyed out, ask whoever holds that role — see Provider and Admin: Who Can Do What.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I lose my messages if I move back to Basic? No. Your conversation history stays exactly as it is. The assistant stops reading and drafting, and your monthly text allowance returns to 100 per chair.
Does the AI assistant cost extra on top of Plus? No. It is included, with a monthly usage allowance per location. If a studio ever reaches it, the assistant pauses and tells you in the affected conversation — your messages keep arriving and you answer them yourself.
Does adding a provider change my allowance? Yes. The pool is per activated bookable provider, so activating someone raises the studio's monthly texts as well as your bill. See Billing for Staff Activation.
Can I try it? New studios start on a trial with its own smaller text allowance while you set things up. See Managing Your Subscription.
