Creating and Configuring a New Location

Creating and configuring additional studio locations.

BukaTime supports multiple locations (studios). Each location has its own staff, services, hours, and subscription. This guide covers creating a new location and getting it ready for bookings.

Understanding Locations

Each location in BukaTime is an independent studio with:

  • Its own website address
  • Its own operating hours and timezone
  • Its own staff list and service catalog
  • Its own subscription and billing

You can switch between locations using the studio switcher in the sidebar, or from Account Settings → Studios.

A new location does not come with a free trial, and it does not start billing on its own. The trial is a once-per-account thing, given to your first studio. Creating a second location deliberately skips it — the wizard shows no plan banner and nothing is charged — and you pick that location's plan explicitly afterwards, under its own Billing. Nothing can quietly activate a billable subscription behind your back.

Step 1: Create the New Location

  1. Go to Account Settings → Studios and click New, or open the studio switcher and choose Create New Studio.
  2. Add a new location opens. It is a single short form, not a multi-step wizard — you fill it in and press Create Location.
Step one of the location wizard: the business name, a phone number, and how clients find this location.

FieldNotes
Business nameRequired. The public-facing name of this location
Booking linkDerived from the name and shown beneath it. Use Change to set a different one; no two locations can share one
Phone numberRequired. The contact number for this location
DescriptionOptional, shown to clients on the booking page
TimezoneRequired. Every appointment time at this location uses it

Everything else — the address, opening hours, services and staff — is set afterwards, in this location's own settings. The form says as much: "You can update everything later in settings."

Your contact email is shown under the phone field and comes from your account; it is not something you set here.

Step 2: Configure Studio Settings

Once the location is created, fine-tune its settings under Studio Configuration → General.

See Studio General Settings for a full reference.

Step 3: Set Booking Hours and Rules

Go to Studio Configuration → Booking to set operating hours, slot intervals, and your booking policy.

See Setting Studio Operating Hours for details.

Step 4: Add Staff to the Location

Staff members are scoped per location. To add staff:

  1. Go to Staff (this is filtered to the current location).
  2. Invite staff as described in Creating and Activating a Staff Member.
  3. Assign them services and working hours.

Step 5: Add Services to the Location

Services are also scoped per location. To add:

  1. Go to Services.
  2. Create services and variants as described in Creating Services and Variants.
  3. Assign staff members to each service.

Step 6: Configure Tax Rates (Optional)

If you charge tax at this location:

  1. Go to Studio Configuration → Taxes.
  2. Create the applicable tax rates.
  3. Assign them to services.

Switching Between Locations

  • Click the studio name in the sidebar to open the studio switcher.
  • Select the location you want to manage.
  • All data (staff, services, calendar, clients) shown will be for the selected location.
  • You can also go to Account Settings → Studios to see all your studios in one place.
